The following article will help you troubleshoot the error message “0x80080005” Unable To Complete Backup”.
Some time when you are trying to set backup in Windows, you may get the following message, "the backup application could not start due to an internal error: Server execution failed (0x80080005).”
original title: 0x80080005
Possible Solution:
This issue can be caused by third party conflicts, let’s try Backup in Clean boot mode.
To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." To know how to perform Clean boot, read How To Perform A Clean Boot In Windows Vista Or In Windows 7 posted earlier.
The above method will help us determine if this issue is caused by a loading program or service. Please perform the steps mentioned in How To Perform A Clean Boot In Windows Vista Or In Windows 7
Once you have done with that process, don’t forget to restart when prompted.
And then continue with your backup process and check whether or not the error still occurs.
Note: Temporarily disabling the Startup Group only prevents the startup programs from loading at startup. This shouldn't adversely affect the system or other programs. We can still manually run these programs later.
In addition, you can try to backup a small file using the following steps to test this issue.
- Open Control Panel and start creating a backup from the Backup and Restore center.
- Select the Location in order to save backup data.
- Once you have chosen your location, you can now choose what to backup. let's choose the option "Let me choose".
Note: uncheck the option before the "Include a system image of drivers: Unnamed driver".
- Now you can start your backup process.
If you can able to succeed in this process, your backup works fine. If you still cant find any success, you can get help related to windows 7 issues by following this location.
