Possible reason could be, Your Windows 7 is using an OEM SLP key. This type of key is Not sold in stores. This type of key Only comes in computer that came with Windows Preinstalled. OEM SLP keys are geared to work with an OEM Bios Flag found on the motherboard of computers from that Manufacturer. The Bios Flags are Specific to the Manufacturer and the version of Windows that it works with. When an OEM SLP keys finds the Proper OEM Bios Flag, it self-activates Windows.

Your computer might have originally came with Windows XP or any previous version of Windows, so your computer would have an OEM Bios Flag for Windows XP, not Windows 7.


If you flashed your computer's Bios with some other Firmware and then, the Bios Flag would not show as valid as the original Bios Flag for Windows 7 is not present.

There are programs out on the internet (and sometimes Sold as Genuine Windows Software) called OEM Bios Hacks. An OEM Bios Hack is a program that makes Windows think there is an OEM Bios Flag on computers where there are none (or makes Windows thinks there is a OEM Bios Flag for Windows 7 when only one for XP, is there). This Hack combined with an OEM SLP key makes Windows to self-activate.

Thereby avoiding the need to Activate using a Valid Product Key. Microsoft recently released an Update the makes Windows 7 ignore around 70+ hacks, including many OEM Bios Hacks.

Given all this, When you get a Windows 7 Not Genuine, I can only conclude that your computer, had a Windows 7 OEM Bios Hack installed. I am not accusing you of piracting Windows 7.

All I can tell you is that without an OEM Bios Hack, a computer that originally came with previous version of Windows can not run an OEM SLP version of Windows 7. The only way that could happen is if an OEM Bios hack was involved. And since your issue occured after Microsoft release an update that makes Windows ignore Activation Hacks I can only assume that your Windows 7 was working in the past because of an OEM Bios Hack and the recent Microsoft Update made the Hack no longer functional.

Your Windows 7's Non-Genuine messaging is valid. Your Windows 7 is, in fact, Non-Genuine.

Resolution:

You have a number of options to resolve the issue.

• 1. You can try reinstalling the Windows 7 you bought. Then go to http://microsoft.com/genuine and click the Validate Windows button.

-If it comes up as Non-Genuine, you know that the Disk has the OEM Bios Hack and is Non-Genuine.

-If it comes up as Genuine, you know that the Disk is Genuine and the Bios Hack was somehow installed later.

• 2. You can revert back to previous version of Window XP, if you have the downgrade rights for your windows Vista.
• 3. You could revert back to your past copy of Vista.
• 4. Lastly, you could buy a Genuine version of Windows 7 (from a reputable Retailer or online e-tailer

Solution 1:

Don't use any cracks/patches You are jeopardizing you security. JUST USE COMMAND PROMPT:

Remember: From now, hide (do not install) the update "KB949810" through windows automatic updates. Though many people will advice not to use automatic updates. I strongly dis agree with that. Automatic updates are necessary to keep your computer up-to-date. Also in Windows Vista, AFTER U UNINSTALL KB949810, use this method and make sure you hide this particular update so it doesn't reinstall in future. Solution 2:

We can remove OGA notification by disabling OGAAddin.dll from loading when we start Office applications. OGAAddin.dll file shows the notification and removing this will stop such notifications from appearing. This below hack will make Windows think that KB949810 is properly installed and it will not prompt you for further installation.

1. Go to Start - Run - Type regedit in the box and hit Enter
2. This will open Registry Editor window, press Ctrl+F to open search box
3. Type OGAAddin.connect in the serach box to find this registry key
4. Once found, Right click on Load behaviour and select Modify option
5. Edit and change the value from 3 to 0
6. Repeat this process for each and every instances of OGAAddin.connect key
7. You are done.

Solution 3:

Microsoft does not allow people to uninstall OGA notifications, but you can easily delete and remove OGA components from your system manually. In this way, they will be automatically go inactive and you won’t see those boring “This copy of Microsoft Office is not genuine” notifications again.

1. Close all Office applications first
2. Navigate to C:\Wndows\System32 or C:\Windows\SysWow64 folder and delete the following files
3. OGAVerify.exe
4. OGAAddin.dll
5. You are done.

Remember: From now, do not install KB949810 through windows automatic updates. Though many people will advice not to use automatic updates. I strongly dis agree with that. Here is an simple way u can make your windows 7 genuine. No need to use and third party patches or cracks. Just a simple way.

If you have exceeded the maximum allowed rearm, please read the last section of this post on how to modify the registry to rearm again.

Before  you continue , please make sure you have administration rights on the Windows 7 machine which you want to make genuine.

• "SkipRearm"=dword:00000000

After your 3rd reset this key will be 00000000 - simply change it to 00000001

But the question now Is that really a guarantee that if I will be using the recovery disks then there will be no use of the COA key anymore. Seeing that you paid a lot of money for your software, it would be a good idea to keep a printed record of all your license numbers, when you bought them, where you bought them from and how much you paid.

You can use some third party software to know the product key of all the software's that were installed in your Windows Operating System.  The one that I use and I can recommend is Product Key Explorer. If on any day you receive the notification that the copy of Windows 7 was not genuine. This normally happens when you do some unattended upgrades in the last few days or week or so. This can happen when you purchased Windows 7 Home and then you did a upgrade to higher versions.

Now even when I try to run small programs like slui.exe , you may get a black screen and a message:

0xC0000022 {Access Denied} A process has requested access to an object, but has not been granted those access rights.

Solution:

The only reasons (that I know of) for getting the "System Error 2 The system cannot find the file specified." error is either:

• 1. The files are missing. That is, the files are not located in their proper folder
 
• 2. The registry entry that tells Windows were to find the files is messed up in some way. That is, Windows doesn't know what folder to look in or is being told to look in the wrong folder)

Since you have already verified that the files do exist and appear to be in the correct folder I believe the issue is Registry based.

However, Troubleshooting Registry issues can be dangerous. But otherwise I recommend contacting Microsoft Assisted Support (at one of the below URLs) or if you are not successful with that link, as a last resort, reinstall Windows.
