Free App to Bring Start Menu on Windows 8 Desktop | Download Stardock

Windows 8 has lots of new features and easier, but still missing the traditional start menu, and to be simple, most of us want the intuitive functionality of what we’re used to and is most productive for us, with some of the new Features of Windows 8.

While most of the users who have updated to Windows 8 are happy with the Start screen and other features, a small number of users aren’t exactly happy with the Metro Start. For users who can’t live without a Start menu, Stardock Corporation has released a new tool named Start8 to bring back Start menu in Windows 8.

The Start button has been one of the best known images in Windows for over sixteen years now. Now on the latest Windows 8, when I look in the corner of my screen and just see an icon for Outlook, it’s still a little jarring. And I’ve been using Windows 8 for months now. So where did the Start button go?

Start8 is a free software that adds the missing Start menu to the taskbar. Upon installing the application, you will see the Windows 7-style Start orb on the taskbar and clicking on the orb will open the Start menu. As you can see in the below picture, Start8 is a Metro-inspired Start menu but includes all features and functions that you would expect in a Start menu.

When the program is running, pressing the keyboard Windows logo key will open Start menu. To switch to the Metro Start screen, you need to either move the mouse cursor to the lower left bottom and then click on the Start or use the Charms Bar. A right-click on the Start orb gives quick access to Run and Shutdown options.

Start8 supports both x86 and x64 versions of Windows 8. Please note that you will need to enter your email address to download Start8 program.

Large number of long time Windows users on the PC have not been happy that the familiar Start menu cannot be accessed on the desktop version of Windows 8.

Flixel is an app for iOS which lets you do animations and then to share with your friends using iOS devices.

This iPhone app won’t make you snap a lot of photos and then stitch them together in a complex manner to make an animation. All you have to do is to point your iPhone or iPad’s camera in the direction of a moving object, and you will have a fully functional animation, which can be edited and then shared with all your friends and personal network on the app.

Flixel starts off with a display of the app’s feed, showcasing all the best shares made by other app users. The Featured images include animations which have received the most likes and favorites from other users.

You can view the animation by tapping its thumbnail, and in its menu, there are options to share it over Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr or via email. Most animations take some time to load up fully, so give it a few moments to enjoy completely.

Although it is possible to use Flixel without signing up for a new account, guests users can’t share their own animations over the app’s own network.

Creating animations using Flixel is easy. Just tap the central camera button in the bottom bar of the app, and you will be taken to the preview screen. The camera sported by Flixel is pretty simple, with just grid and flash buttons present.

After you have captured the animation, you can edit it with ease. There are many filters present in Flixel, which can be applied with a single tap. Most effects are free, but there are a few paid ones as well, which can be activated via in-app purchases. It is also possible to cut your animations artistically from different areas to give it a whole new view. Once you are done editing the image, you can choose to add a caption to it, along with your current location.

Flixel is a free app, and you can grab it by going to the App Store link provided below.

Access Apps Through Windows Explorer in Windows 8

Windows 8 will change the way users interact with it, and it will change the way we developers think about it.

The Metro Start Screen on Windows 8 makes it easy to launch your Metro apps from that screen, but did you know you can access them from Windows Explorer too? Here’s how to do it.

Earlier, we have seen how to use the Start button or the Start menu on Windows 8.

To get started you need to create a shortcut, so right-click on the desktop, and choose New –>  Shortcut.

When you are asked for the location of the item, use the following:

    %windir%\explorer.exe shell:::{4234d49b-0245-4df3-b780-3893943456e1}

Give your shortcut a name, like All Apps and click finish.

If you open the shortcut you will see it has all your apps, including your Metro apps, conveniently in one place.

Android App To Save Missed Calls To Your Google Tasks

Any.do is a free to-do list that helps you get things done with your friends in a simple & elegant way. With Any.do you can easily capture, organize & sync all the things you need to do. It's free, simple & fun!

Any.do has a beautiful UI with large fonts and there’s voice input so you can add new tasks by speaking instead of typing on that small keyboard. My favorite feature though is the app's integration with Google Tasks. Any.do can sync your task list with Gmail both ways so you always have access to your tasks.

Any.do is my favorite task manager for mobile. It is currently available for Android phones only but they are working on an iPhone app and also a web-based version that should make it available to all the other mobile platforms.

Android App To Save Missed Calls To Your Google Tasks

The new version of Any.do’s Android app adds another interesting feature.

If there’s a missed call on your mobile phone and you are too busy to return the call at that time, you can quickly add it to your pending task list with a simple click. Thus, you would remember to call that person and since Any.do synchronizes with Google Tasks, all your missed call notifications would also be available inside Gmail.

Actually you can use another paid Android app “Backup to Gmail” which also saves SMS, call logs and MMS to Gmail. And also you can restore back to your mobile from Gmail. In SMS Backup it is one way, you cannot restore back to Mobile Phone.

Any application that can send SMS them that " I am busy right now" or like that or any settings you might know for android?

While someone call you on your mobile, there is a setting (this settings differ from phone to phone) that let you send a standard SMS like, "I am in a meeting, I will call you later"
