Recently revealed details have increased our levels of anticipation on Sony Xperia S. Also, in the year 2012, one of our most looked is the Sony Xperia S.
Sony’s planning some truly unique and extremely useful features for its next-gen Android device.
The Sony Xperia S was in prime contention for this year’s MWC show for ‘most anticipated smartphone’.
We know that the Sony Xperia S will finally provide us with a dual-core Sony device – a 1.5GHz chip, no less. Note that the ‘Ericsson’ is missing – that’s because Sony has bought out its Scandinavian partner and future devices will simply be known under the reassuringly techy Sony moniker.
Back to the Xperia S, and it’ll also boast a 4.3-inch HD screen for iPhone 4S Retina display-levels of sharpness. If that’s not enough iPhone-bothering already, how about a 12-megapixel camera with Sony’s typically excellent Exmor R image sensor technology. There’ll also be NFC and a distinctive notification strip that runs the width of the device.
According to Xperia blog, the Sony Xperia S will come with an extraordinary stain-resistant shell. This has been confirmed by Sony itself, over on its Facebook account. Apparently this involves a nano coating that repels dirt – an effect that’s apparently boosted by exposing the phone to the sun’s rays.
Another cool new feature is the Sony Xperia S’s reported fast charge capabilities. As expanded upon by Phandroid, this will mean that you can pump it with an hour’s worth of juice in just 10 minutes, while 30 minutes will charge the phone to 80 per cent. The system will slow down a little in order to push it to 100 per cent capacity, but mostly full in half an hour sounds good enough to us.
So the Sony Xperia S will be super fast, super sharp, unique-looking, will take top notch pictures, will have (in Android 4.0) one of the finest mobile operating systems ever, will repel dirt, and will charge to almost-full in 30 minutes.
