Do you have problems with Sound on windows with windows explorer 8? When you are trying to watch a video online or to listen audio or even some on-line news video, the computer will play personal off-line cd recording instead of the online media.
This problem arise only on Internet Explorer and not on other browses in the same Operating System.
The videos will play fine, without any sound, in fact any video (news, emails with video etc.) will not play any sound anymore. If you want to have a quick fix, try to install another Internet Browser, say Google Chrome and you must get out of internet explorer, and temporarily make Chrome your default browser / search engine to make the sound portion work, and it will works fine through Chrome.
Did you make any changes to your machine prior to the issue occurring? If you have made any issue prior to this misbehavior, I would suggest you to redo it. If you are not sure what you have done, a simple system restore will do the trick.

Write commentsSo this blog seems to prove my point to myself that IE continues to be problematic! We are actually wondering if it is a "must support" nowadays, with the rise of Safari, Firefox, and others. Our CTO discusses our dilemma in more detail here- http://blog.arenasolutions.com/internet-explorer-bugs/ - but as someone who does a lot of IE Support, what do you think about it as a "must support" browser for SAAS companies?
ReplyHello Fat Al,
ReplyThank you for visiting bench3.
In terms are security, nothing really can come closer to Internet Explorer. Firefox is too good only till you find that it actually consumes more amount of RAM. And even a corrupted dll can be a reason for this blog post. So, nothing can be said.
