Default Gateway Not Available Error | Fix It

The following post will let you help in case if you are coming across the error message like “Default Gateway Not Available” in Windows 7 while connecting to internet.

When you are online, you will be forced into off-line (DSL) and will get a message that No local internet connection. And some time you will get a hint with a statement "default gateway not available." 

Every time you connect the Internet, you will be able to stay on-line for a while and then, for no reason, You will be signed out of Internet.

Solution:

May be, you had done any changes to the computer prior to the issue. If you remember any thing, try to undo those changes, if you are not sure, try system restore to the earlier version. 

Follow the methods listed below and check if that helps:

Method 1: Let’s run the network troubleshooter to diagnose and fix the issue.

Method 2: Follow the steps provided in the link given below to update the network drivers and check if that helps.

Method 3: If the above steps did not help then, follow the steps provided below to renew the IP address.

a. Click Start. Type cmd in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.

b. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

- ipconfig /release in the command prompt and press ENTER

- ipconfig /renew in the command prompt and press ENTER
