The Finnish mobile brand, Nokia has recently disclosed its another N-series smartphone supporting MeeGo. It was the most awaited handset since when the rumor came that the upcoming N9 will be the MeeGo running device.
This new smartphone from the flagship of Nokia has got amazing looks as it has got a 3.9-inch AMOLED display and its irresistible a curved design.
According to Nokia, the new Nokia N9 will enter the market in three different colour options including Black, Cyan, and Magenta and features 1GHz Cortex A8 CPU, 3.9 display, New operating system (MeeGo OS, v1.2 Harmattan), Design like apple iPhone, New look, 3G speed up to 14Mps.
The Nokia smartphone will also be available in the two different variants that comes with storage space of 16GB and 32gb (or may be 64gb). Nokia N9 smartphone will ship with an 8-megapixel camera that allows for autofocus and "HD-quality video capture."
Some time back, Microsoft and Nokia announced that they had signed a pact, which would ensure Windows Phone become the "principal" operating system on Nokia's line of gadgets.
Single Swipe Gets Us To Home Screen
Nokia has put an exciting new swiping software to Nokia N9. This new feature allows the users to get out of any application on the smartphone, just through a single swipe from the edge of the display and move them back to the home screen.
There are three "home views" in the software, which allow the users to access applications, receive notifications as well as social-network updates and also switching between the different functions.
Nokia N9 also comes preloaded with the near field communication (NFC) feature, which provide users with sharing pictures and video with other NFC-enabled gadgets through tapping them together.
Nokia N9 gets so much attention everywhere both from lovers and haters. Nokia may even (in future) support Windows 7 Mango, and people also wish they should also support Meego.
-
Nokia N9 has no flash support for now but we are not sure if they will include it in future once they release it officially or on upcoming update.
-
Nokia N9 should have made with 12 mega Pixel camera like N8 instead of just 8MP
-
There is no extra (memory) card slot in Nokia N9. So, we cant expand the space further. This might be the biggest single mistake Nokia has done for Nokia N9. Did Nokia not learn the lessons of the X6, E7 or the fact that many people prefer NOKIA over APPLE because of that single issue.
The new MeeGo Operating System is amazing and awesome from its start, one can imagine that it will be much better with future updates and improvements. Also remember, Nokia has finally started using 1ghz processor , new operating system (not the same old Symbian).
Advantages Of Nokia N9:
Better User Interface: Nokia N9 is so simple to use. Nokia re-invented the smartphones. People from 3 to 90 years old can easily learn how to use this phone. Simply excellent!
Also remember, Symbian is in fact a lot easier to use than android. You don't buy a smartphone for simple tasks. However, the Meego User Interface is much better than the other smart phone operating system. That's a subjective issue though.
Better Camera: This device has the best screen ever put on mobile. That is not subjective, its a fact. CBD or an equivalent technology, with high pixel density. Your beloved apps would be running on this unit too so.
Nokia N9 has a massive internal memory, Nokia N9 will also be available in the two different variants that comes with storage space of 16GB and 64GB. But still we are not sure if this phone really don’t support 32GB or what. There is no clue.
Nokia N9 has the best display and with much higher pixels. It will never fade even in direct sunlight and it keeps the colours good. The CBD is awesome in this resolution.
Nokia N9 supports USB OTG.
Disadvantages:
Nokia N9 is not free from disadvantages, few of the old features are missing, and few more expected from the smartphone models are not present. And here are they…
But in another way, do card slot are really needed? because Nokia N9 supports 16gb and 32gb (or may be 64gb), which is huge for a Mobile device which can be enough and more storage with USB OTG.

Meego Operating system is fine, and as its just released, from the application point of view, it lacks the variaty, the quantity of application that is available in the market. I have read on the internet that N9 will run most of the Android Applications. Not sure yet. What ever, Meego is still a new operating system to be realistic.

No Radio Support In Nokia N9, that means there is no FM transmitter too. But these days, most of us don’t need a FM. Nokia N9 already has music player and also supports internet radio. Nokia might have skipped FM Radio as its needed for low end phone due to lack of features.
-
And there is no dedicated key for camera for taking pictures like how it was in Nokia N8
-
Nokia N9 only supports Micro SIM. But Microsim is of no matter as any sim can be cut and made into a microsim .
One can find that on youtube. It has video of how to convert sim to microsim for iPad, that two uses microsim.
-
Nokia N9 does not support dual core. Might be quite outdated as now-a-days most of the smartphone are packed up with dual core.
But, do you think that dual core is everything? NO, it's not. It drains your battery quickly and not all people buy phones to play games, so grow up! It does its jobs smoothly in terms of browsing and telephony.

Nokia N9 supports Carl Zeis but it does not support 1080P. A bigger set back.

Nokia N9 Supports Only Bluetooth 2.1
Also like to mention that it is not a practical review i have just seen the phone in photos, there is so many things/features are missing in the device. But one have to understand that we can't have a phone that has all features. If we want that way, we are childish.
Microsim is a mistake but not big enough to make people not buy this awesome piece of engineering. But bluetooth 2.1 is a bigger letdown. Radio is so old school. But would have been better if it was present.
Over all, Nokia N9 looks nice, performs well. MeeGo looks so promising and has so much potential.
And to give the final note, I personally respect Nokia N9 because of its massive internal storage and fast camera. And more over, Nokia N9 is the hottest looking phone one can see. This is most glamour’s and most appealing design Nokia has ever introduced and this will count on sales of Nokia N9. Even the pink (or magenta) looks hot. This is what all mobile phones should look like. And no buttons on the front? That just makes every single phone before it look old and irrelevant. I truly hope this becomes a winner!
