Microsoft’s worst decision was to
install this thing called Microsoft Genuine Advantage and it has created
a lot of fuss in the computer world. Sometimes even the genuine Windows
or Office products will not validate against Microsoft’s Genuine
Advantage program.
Solution 1:
Don't use any cracks/patches You are jeopardizing you security. JUST USE COMMAND PROMPT:
1. (RIGHT CLICK COMMAND PROMPT AND RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR, THIS IS IMPORTANT)
2. CLOSE ALL RUNNING MS OFFICE APPLICATIONS (WORD,EXCEL, ETC)
3. TYPE (OR COPY AND PASTE): MsiExec.exe /X{B2544A03-10D0-4E5E-BA69-0362FFC20D18}
4. HIT ENTER!!!
5. PRESTO!!! THIS IS THE ONLY LEGIT WAY TO REMOVE THAT PESKY KB949810 UPDATE
Remember: From now, hide (do not install) the update "KB949810" through windows automatic updates.
Though many people will advice not to use automatic updates. I strongly
dis agree with that. Automatic updates are necessary to keep your
computer up-to-date. Also in Windows Vista, AFTER U UNINSTALL KB949810,
use this method and make sure you hide this particular update so it
doesn't reinstall in future. Read Here To Know How To Manually Remove OGA Notification And How To Skip KB949810 Updates From Installing
Solution 2:
We can remove OGA notification by disabling OGAAddin.dll from loading when we start Office applications. OGAAddin.dll file shows the notification and removing this will stop such notifications from appearing. This below hack will make Windows think that KB949810 is properly installed and it will not prompt you for further installation.
- Go to Start - Run - Type regedit in the box and hit Enter
- This will open Registry Editor window, press Ctrl+F to open search box
- Type OGAAddin.connect in the serach box to find this registry key
- Once found, Right click on Load behaviour and select Modify option
- Edit and change the value from 3 to 0
- Repeat this process for each and every instances of OGAAddin.connect key
- You are done.
Solution 3:
Microsoft does not allow people to uninstall OGA notifications, but you can easily delete and remove OGA components from your system manually. In this way, they will be automatically go inactive and you won’t see those boring “This copy of Microsoft Office is not genuine” notifications again.
- Close all Office applications first
- Navigate to C:\Wndows\System32 or C:\Windows\SysWow64 folder and delete the following files
- OGAVerify.exe
- OGAAddin.dll
- You are done.
Remember: From now, do not install KB949810 through windows automatic updates. Though many people will advice not to use automatic updates. I strongly dis agree with that. Automatic updates are necessary to keep your computer up-to-date. If you have any problems, please let me know. Feel free to comment here.
Solution 3 (Using Third Party Crack): Microsoft has recently updated their Office Genuine Advantage Crack. Supremo Phantom has a combined crack for Windows Genuine Advantage and Office Genuine Advantage. That crack has got the fix for the latest version of OGA 2.0.48.0. The crack can be downloaded from the internet. You can google for the file Office_Geniune_Fix.zip.

THIS IS THE BEST SOLUTION OF REMOVING OFFICE GENUINE ADVANTAGE NOTIFICTIONS
ReplyHack 3: Delete and Remove (Uninstall) Office Genuine Advantage Notifications Components
Although Microsoft does not allow OGA Notifications to be uninstall, but that does not mean that individual file components of OGA Notifications cannot be deleted, removed or uninstalled manually.
To disable OGA Notifications and uninstall KB949810, close and exit from all Office applications (including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Publisher, Visio and etc.), and search for the following files in %SystemDrive%\Wndows\System32 folder and %SystemDrive%\Windows\SysWow64 folder (for 64-bit OS x64 only).
OGAVerify.exe
OGAAddin.dll
Delete the above files. It’s also possible rename the files so that system cannot find them
Solution #1 did the trick! Awesome! Thanks so much.
ReplyI did not find the file OGAVerify.exe but found these 3 files in system32: OGAEXEC, OGACheckControl.dll and OGAAddin.dll. Moved them to a folder on the Desktop and it worked just fine! Thanks

Most individuals, not being wealthy, shop for
the best price. If an individual purchases what
is believed to be a legitimate product at a low
price, should that individual be punished after
he has spent his money on a knockoff?
Uploading malware that displays messages of purchased software being in-genuine and that interferes with computer operation is meant to be punishing harassment. Is it morally correct for the richest man in the world, Bill Gates, to punish an individual on computer or otherwise simply because a knockoff was unknowingly purchased? Should Bill Gates be held personally responsible for such harassment?
It is Microsoft's responsibility to insure protection of their products in the market place. It is beyond the ability or responsibility of individuals to protect Microsoft's interests.
Solution 1 rocks
ReplyAnonymous: Yes,it did worked fine, thanks alot.
ReplyBRILLIANT ,Solution 3 did the trick in a couple of minutes.

Haja, I have to tell you, I spent several hours going thru all your posts! I absolutely love and appreciate your website. What I really appreciate the most is that you are very concise and explain things very simply and easy to understand. Your website is a wealth of knowledge and I've bookmarked it so I can continue to read all your blogs. I hope you never remove this from the web. Thank you so much, again, my friend! I wish you the best!
ReplyI don't have any of the files you mention...the OGA files or the KB949810. I just can't get past the activation process. Obviously MS has been working hard on Office 2010 to make it crack proof.
ReplyMany thanks for your appreciation Joseph. Also I thank you for spending your time and writing a comment here!
ReplyHave some great time!
Obviously! But the KB files are the updates from Microsoft. And if you installed Office, surely you will be having its Application files. I cant understand what you say by " i dont have any of the files" you have to check the article step by step friend!
ReplyOMG! finally found a solution that works. Bravo and thank you plenty!
ReplyNice to know it worked for most! and thanks for your time in writing a comment on bench3! always welcome!
ReplySolution #2 worked perfect for me!! Thanks a milly!
Replysolution three is no good the file is a trojan virus, according to norton thousands have downloaded this file!
ReplySince bench3 does not host any files on our server. We cant comment on what you have downloaded! sorry for the trouble. When solution two can do the trick for most of the people, i guess that will help you!
ReplyHaja, could it be that Anonymous (Feb 4, 2011, 12:14pm) can't find the files you mentioned as he has Office 2010 Professional Plus? My wife has it on her laptop, and I couldn't find those files either.
ReplyHello Malasky, Did u try using Administrator rights? If not, try it. Try to log into user account who has administration rights.
ReplyRemember to use an elevated command prompt if UAC is enabled!
Type in cmd in the Start menu.
Right-click the cmd.exe element that shows up.
Select Run as Administrator.
Answer Yes at the UAC prompt
Thanks Haja. I'll give it a go, and report back.
ReplyHi Haja.
ReplyI've tried the above solutions without success. When I tried solution 1 I get a message saying that it can only uninstall currently installed products. Solution 2 brings back no search results in the registry editor, and Solution 3 doesn't bring back any of the OGA files in the Windows System 32 folder. I've searched the Updates application for the KB949810 Update, and I can't find that either. I've tried the solutions running everything as administrator, but still no luck. I'm now properly confused and frustrated.
Hello Malasky, what version of Office you are using?
ReplyHaja, I'm using Office 2010 Professional Plus. Everything on it works, (print etc), but I can't seem to get rid of the annoying red bar at the top of the page telling me it's not activated, and I still get the reminder notices whenever I open up an Office application. (Word, Excel. Powerpoint etc)
ReplyI'm in the same boat with Malasky. I got the same results from all three methods. Trying to get rid of the notifications that show up every time I open an office product, along with the red bar at the top of the window.

ReplyHi Haja,
ReplyNone of the office 2010 works for me.
Now I cannot edit the files, all the toolbars are grayed out.
Can you help me to delete all the registry entries.
I can browse to HKCU->Softwares->microsoft->office->14.0 and deleted it but it did not work
is it safe to update ms office even if I don't have a genuine copy of it? I just found a serial key from the internet and pasted it.
