Flixel is an app for iOS which lets you do animations and then to share with your friends using iOS devices.

This iPhone app won’t make you snap a lot of photos and then stitch them together in a complex manner to make an animation. All you have to do is to point your iPhone or iPad’s camera in the direction of a moving object, and you will have a fully functional animation, which can be edited and then shared with all your friends and personal network on the app.

 

Flixel starts off with a display of the app’s feed, showcasing all the best shares made by other app users. The Featured images include animations which have received the most likes and favorites from other users.

You can view the animation by tapping its thumbnail, and in its menu, there are options to share it over Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr or via email. Most animations take some time to load up fully, so give it a few moments to enjoy completely.

Although it is possible to use Flixel without signing up for a new account, guests users can’t share their own animations over the app’s own network.

Creating animations using Flixel is easy. Just tap the central camera button in the bottom bar of the app, and you will be taken to the preview screen. The camera sported by Flixel is pretty simple, with just grid and flash buttons present.

After you have captured the animation, you can edit it with ease. There are many filters present in Flixel, which can be applied with a single tap. Most effects are free, but there are a few paid ones as well, which can be activated via in-app purchases. It is also possible to cut your animations artistically from different areas to give it a whole new view. Once you are done editing the image, you can choose to add a caption to it, along with your current location.

Apple has unveiled the next-gen iPad Packing a Retina (this is what they say) IPS display with the mind-blowing resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and a bumped up GPU, this shapes up to be one of the hottest slates on the market. And yes, the iPad has lost its Home button alright.

Rumours about the new slate being called iPad 3 or iPad HD turned out wrong and the new device is simply called iPad - just like the first generation device.

Moving on to the main course, it is said that the new Apple iPad offers a Retina display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 with around 263.92 ppi. Apple also says that it has better color saturation than the iPad 2. Only a little higher screen-resolution and a quad-core gpu to handle the higher screen resolution, this is less than even I expected from Apple!

But experts opinion is that the new Apple iPad cant have a Retina display, because the ppi is under 300. The display hast o be at least 330 ppi. for it to be a true retina display (330 ppi) and the resolution has to be at least 2664x1776! This is in fact a downgrade on performance.

Another biggest disadvantage is, The iPad 2 gpu had to render (1024x768) = 786,432 pixels. The new iPad gpu which is 2x the iPad 2 one has to render an unnecessary 2048x1536= 3,145,728. That is, four times the pixels, with 2 times the gpu.

Earlier apple launched the iPhone 4 with the retina display and say 325 ppi and up is retina display tech. Now iPad is announced with just 263.92 ppi and they still call it a retina display smh. So what is what?

The processor inside is not a quad-core A6 but a dual-core A5X with quad-core graphics.

The camera is dubbed iSight - it's a 5 MP BSI unit with auto-focus, sporting a 5-element lens. The new iPad's camera offers 1080p video recording.

The new iPad features 21Mbps HSPA+ and 42Mbps DC-HSDPA and 4G LTE up to 73Mbps.

The new iPad will keep its acclaimed 10-hour battery life, save when in 4G mode when it will be able to do 9 hours.

Rumours  are there that the new iPad has lost its Home button! But its not true. We do have a home button. Don't worry. I can see the home button as well.

Again one should note that the processor inside is not a quad-core A6 but a dual-core A5X with quad-core graphics.

If you are planning to buy an iPad, yes, the new iPad, remember, hardly it can be used for productivity and serious business work. Editing a simple word or excel document is a pain.

Good for gaming and browsing. For each and every thing you need to have an special iPad app.

The new iPad is decent and very good but not really exciting about it because dual cores are still very fast even upto date. Apple has to do something to redesign the product.

iPhoto app means so much for average user than specs numbers. Of course iPhoto does cool works. But that is just a software. Ok, here is why "The new iPad" is nothing:

• Same design
• Same screen size, the higher resolution did absolutely nothing here beside need more powerful GPU to render on it. (That why Quadcore GPU is attached).
• Same old Dualcore CPU.
• No flash support

• No HTML 5 support

It just another slightly modification of iPad 2. Probably of this, they never call it iPad 3 as this are not. No wonder they didn't call it iPad 3, because its actually going backwards. Thicker and heavier.

There is one more reason why people hate iPad.

• The Ipad is the same $499 as the original.
• Maybe users just hate iTunes and prefer the simplicity of drag and drop.
• Maybe they like memory expansion.
• Maybe they like Bluetooth file transfer.
• Maybe they like USB connectivity, micro HDMI, quad core, etc, etc, etc....

Without no Flash support or HTML5 which Apple contributed in development, It's just another Game tablet.

Sorry, I can afford what Apple is selling. I need to be able to share information directly to other members of my team without having to go through iTunes, and I need a Wacom active pen system to utilize sketching apps properly.

I would have been impressed if they came out with Super AMOLED HD screen with a high resolution density. No real wow factor as an 800 by 1280 resolution is more than enough to trick your eye-brain to see a smooth picture definition.

Transformer prime Infinity is thinner and specs and cameras and screen are close not to mention they got a micro sd card slot in. Plus the 18 hour battery

The ipad range just doesn't excite me I will be truthful. The specs are great the screen one of a kind and the processor is ahead of the game for gaming but the folks at apple just don't think.

I mean a out-dated OS, a out-dated view of what consumers want. I don't know what to say i am just disappointed as there is nothing interesting.

Awesome! HD Screen, Quad-core and yet still 10 hour battery life! I want!

I personally think this is a good product but at the same time i still don't get the need for tablets when they mostly do the same things u can do on your phones. I doubt we will fully be able to appreciate such a high resolution on such a small screen. I can just about tell the difference between a 1080p film and a 720p film on my computer screen let alone a 10" screen.

Now in this world of extremely easy access to all information and knowledge, once users have taken power into their hands. Giants like Apple, Microsoft, Google, etc. Will not be easy by using lies and manipulation to sell their products, and earn easy money.

Apple in the past has had a great balance of functionality and fashion, but I dare say people will buy this based on a "High". Personally the screen looks great, but a car's colour/paint/shape can only contribute so much to making the car a great car.

1080p resolution only make sense in large screen. A bigger resolution is stupid in a smallest screen. It doesn't make any sense 720p and 1080p is the same in a small screen you don´t notice the difference.

Yes, the display is wonderful, the web browsing will surely be great. But i guess Apple pushing the envelope. Take an objective look at the spec sheets of The Asus Transformer Prime vs the new iPad, is it close for the Asus or is it a thrashing by iPad?

Every one should read this what Apple said in their new commercial: "We think technology is best when it's invisible"

That's key element with iOS devices, apple sell things which you can do with that technology and not trying to sell the technology itself like others do.

That makes huge difference and is the one reason why apple sells so much and others not that much.

Personally, I see no big difference between the iPad 2 and the new iPad. And I see no reason to buy any tablet that can not even handle both html5 and Adobe Flash, and iPad can not even visit every webpage on the Internet!

After various online news, rumors and leaked information, Apple has officially announced the launch of iPad 3 as 7th March 2012.

Finally it all came true with Apple iPad3.

Release Date & Venue of Apple iPad3:

Date: Wednesday, 7th March, 2012

Time: 10 AM (PT), the event may host for 1 hour or little more than an hour.

Venue: Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco

Apple's Invitation for iPad3:

The invitation had "We have something you really have to see. And touch." The background shows part of an iPad screen, with a finger pointed over the Calendar app, which has been set to the venue date i.e., Wednesday, March 7, 2012.

Better Retina Display on iPad 3 :

About 9.7-inch display claimed to be of the upcoming iPad3 and it has been confirmed that the display will offer 2 times more linear resolution and four times the number of pixels than the iPad 2.

We can confirm that the 9.7 inch resolution display does offer four times the number of pixels than the iPad2.

 

However Apple didn't disclose anything about the price or any extra details, but the news from various blogs is that it might be over $500 and might be $80 more than the previous version. Stay tuned for latest updates on Apple iPad 3.

The parts back up what we've been hearing recently. The outside design of the iPad 3 will look almost exactly like the iPad 2. The upgrade will be mostly internal and will include a faster processor, more memory, and a higher resolution display.

If you're willing to poke around a bit, you're one big step ahead.

Free App: You can also use any one of the free document processing apps such as FileApp (Documents & Files reader) instead of Pages app.

Here's the trick: you'll need to install the Pages app from the App Store (at $9.99, it's a great deal!) then plug your iPad into your computer. For this demo, I'll show the screen shots from my Windows 7 PC, but it should work the same from any OS running iTunes.

Click on the "Apps" tab:

Now you see the screen that lets you choose which apps you want to have on your iPad and organize them as you desire:

Ready for that big secret? Scroll below this area and you'll see....

Click on "Pages" in the Apps (if you are using the free FileApp, then you need to click on that), then click on "Add...", then select the documents you want to work with.

That's all you have to do on the PC, which isn't too bad once you learn where the secret data library is located. Resync your iPad and the data files will transfer across as if by magic!

Next, launch Pages on your iPad. The opening screen looks like this:

The folder icon (in the top right) is what you need to choose so you can get to your newly created document archive. Tap it and you'll see all the documents you transferred onto the iPad:

Tap on the document you want  and you'll see the import progress bar, and finally, it'll finish up and, possibly, show this:

Now you can tweak and modify it as appropriate or just view it. Pages on the iPad isn't a fully functional editor, but it should keep you moving while on the road.

iTunes is a free application for your Mac or PC. It lets you organize and play digital music and video on your computer. It can automatically download new music, app, and book purchases across all your devices and computers. And it’s a store that has everything you need to be entertained. Anywhere. Anytime.

Although iTunes was never meant to be a song editing application, it offers a simple control over the starting and stopping points for playing back a song. You can use this feature to cut out unwanted intros and outros of a song, such as announcers and audience applause. You can also use it in conjunction with the Convert feature to split a track into multiple tracks.

Step-by-Step Instructions on how to Set the start and stop points in a song on iTunes.

iTunes will play only a portion of a song if you specify start and stop times within the song. To set the start and/or stop points in a song, select the song and choose File, Get Info; then click Options to show the dialog that lets you specify the start and stop times.

Click inside the Start Time field to set the start time. Click inside the Stop Time field to set the stop time. The time is in minutes, seconds, and hundredths of a second (decimal) — 8:15.978 is 8 minutes and 15.978 seconds.

To determine with accuracy the time for the start and stop points, play the song and look in the Status pane at the top-center part of the iTunes window for the Elapsed Time. You can drag the slider in the Status pane to move quickly through the song and find the exact times for the start and stop points you want to set.

For example, in the below screen shot, I have made the song to stop at 40 Seconds. So, this particular Song will play only the first 40 Seconds. However, you can set any start and stop time (stop time should greater than start time).

If you click Elapsed Time in the Status pane, it toggles to Remaining Time; click it again for Total Time, and click it once more to see Elapsed Time again.

iTunes plays only the part of the song between the start and stop times. You can use this feature to your advantage because when you convert the song, iTunes converts only the part of the song between the start and stop times.

iTunes lets you enjoy all your music, movies, videos, and TV shows on your Mac or PC. When you want to watch or listen to something, you no longer have to look through your CDs or flip through channels — just go to your computer and open iTunes. With your entire media collection in your iTunes library, you can browse everything faster, organize it all more easily, and play anything whenever the mood strikes.

No longer were PCs and Macs incompatible at a very low level. When Apple switched its desirable Macintosh computers from the aging Power PC architecture to Intel’s PC-compatible x86 platform in 2006, the computing landscape was changed forever.

Indeed, Macs are now simply PCs running a different operating system. This fascinating change opened up the possibility of Mac users running Windows software natively on their machines, either in a dual-boot scenario or, perhaps, in a virtualized environment that would offer much better performance than the Power PC–based virtualized environments of the past.

These dreams quickly became reality. Apple created software called Boot Camp that now enables Mac users to dual-boot between Mac OS X (Leopard or higher) and Windows XP, Vista, or 7.

Be aware of a limitation: You need to purchase a copy of Windows 7, as no Mac ships with Microsoft’s operating system. This is a not-so-fine point that Apple never seems to mention in their advertising.

Dual Boot with Mac: Using Boot Camp

Boot Camp is a feature of Mac OS X and is configured via that system’s Boot Camp  Assistant. As shown in Figure 2-49, Boot Camp Assistant is available from the Mac OS X Utilities folder (Applications ➪ Utilities) and provides a wizard-based configuration experience.

Boot Camp is available only in Mac OS X 10.5 “Leopard” or newer, and it supports only 32-bit versions of Windows XP, Vista, and 7.

The key to this wizard is the Create a Second Partition phase, where you can graphically resize the partition layout on the hard disk between Mac OS X and Windows, as shown in Figure below. (Macs with multiple hard drives can be configured such that Mac OS X and Windows occupy different physical disks, if desired.)

After that, Boot Camp prompts you to insert the Windows 7 Setup DVD and proceed with setup. From a Windows user’s perspective, setup proceeds normally and Windows looks and acts as it should once installed. Be sure to keep your Mac OS X Setup DVD handy, however. It includes the necessary drivers that Windows needs to be compatible with the Mac’s specific hardware.

Once you have Windows 7 up and running on the Mac, there are just a few Mac-specific issues you should be aware of:

• Configuring Boot Camp: When you install Windows 7 on a Mac using Boot Camp, Apple installs a Boot Camp Control Panel application, which you can access by selecting Start Menu Search and typing boot camp. This application helps you configure important functionality such as the default system to load at boot time (Mac or Windows).

There’s also a system notification tray applet that enables you to access the Boot Camp Control Panel and Boot Camp Help and choose to reboot into Mac OS X.

• Switching between operating systems at boot time: While you can choose the default operating system at boot time via the Boot Camp Control Panel application, or choose to boot into Mac OS X from within Windows by using the Boot Camp tray applet, you can also choose an OS on-the-fly when you boot up the Mac. To do so, restart the Mac and then hold down the Option key until you see a screen with icons for both Mac OS X and Windows. Then, use the arrow keys on the keyboard to choose the system you want and press Enter to boot.
• Understanding Mac keyboard and mouse differences: While Macs are really just glorified PCs now, Apple continues to use unique keyboard layouts and, frequently, one-button mice. As a result, you may have to make some adjustments when running Windows on a Mac. Table below lists some commonly used keyboard commands and explains how to trigger equivalent actions on a Mac.

Windows can also be installed on virtual environment. With a virtualized environment running under Mac OS X, you have the advantage of running Mac OS X and Windows applications side by side, but with a performance penalty. In this situation, Mac OS X is considered the host OS, and Windows is a guest OS running on top of Mac OS X. (This works much like Windows Virtual PC and XP Mode.)
